“Buffy” Star Faces Grand Theft Charges

Nicholas Brendon, co-star on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” was recently arrested in Florida on suspicion of grand theft and criminal mischief.

Grand Theft Arrest

According to jail records, Brendon, 43, who was in Fort Lauderdale for  comic book convention, spent the night in the Broward County Jail. Allegedly, the “Criminal Minds” actor caused $450 worth of damage to his hotel room after becoming intoxicated.  He was found asleep in a hotel employee’s car. He owes $380 in food and beverage charges and is refusing to pay for the costs and damages. Because of his refusal to pay he was arrested on suspicion of grand theft and criminal mischief.

Troubled Actor

This is not the first run in with the law that Brendon has had.  He was recently arrested for accusations of drunken and destructive behavior in another hotel. In 2010, the actor was arrested in Santa Monica for suspicion of vandalism. He also resisted arrest and was charged with battery of a police officer. Following that incident he checked himself into rehab.

“We are aware Nick has a problem, and sometimes his disease gets the best of him,” said Andrea Aldin, a representative for the actor. “He wants to get help, and he will get help,” Aldin said.
